Legacy Charity is driven by compassion and a deep sense of solidarity. Our mission is to improve the lives of underprivileged children, at-risk youth, and poor widows across Nigeria — restoring dignity, creating opportunities, and making a sustainable difference where it is needed most.
Founded by Joshua Okonkwo — known as Joe Legacy — the organisation was born from personal experience of poverty and a conviction that those who are able have a responsibility to help. Legacy Charity is registered in Switzerland and operates ground-level programmes in Nigeria, supported by a dedicated cross-border team.

Legacy Charity works to change that — providing scholarships, mentoring, and school supplies so that children receive not just academic knowledge but also the moral and social values to understand their identity and contribution to society.
A milestone: two sponsored students have completed secondary school — one is now at university, the other training in catering.
The Legacy Charity Skill Acquisition Centre trains young people and women in practical, income-generating skills — reducing unemployment, fostering entrepreneurship, and enabling self-reliance. Training areas include:
Digital skills (video editing, content creation, digital marketing, graphic design) · Food & hospitality · Agriculture & food processing · Fashion design & crafts · Technical trades (electrical, plumbing, welding, solar installation, CCTV, construction)
In many Nigerian communities, widows are overlooked and left to fend for themselves. Legacy Charity restores their dignity through financial support to start small businesses — a sewing machine, a kitchen set, a hairdressing kit — alongside the annual Royal Feast: a celebration of food, clothing, school materials, and gifts that reminds widows and their children they are not forgotten.
Music therapy through a widows' choir also provides emotional relief and community belonging.
Legacy Charity provides access to basic medical care for poor widows and children — improving health outcomes and quality of life for those who would otherwise go without.
The Rehoboth Farm Project — a livestock and crop farm — generates sustainable income to fund ongoing programmes while creating employment for the less privileged. The farm grows crops, fruits, vegetables, poultry, fish, and livestock.
Held multiple times a year, Royal Feast distributes food packages, clothing, school materials, and personal gifts to vulnerable widows and children. More than an event — it is a celebration of love, hope, and community.
A training hub equipping youth and women with digital, culinary, agricultural, creative, and technical skills. Currently seeking sponsors, grants, equipment donations, and technical partners to bring the centre to life.
A self-sustaining farm providing employment for the less privileged while generating income to fund the charity's core programmes. Crops, poultry, fish, and livestock — named after Isaac's third well in Genesis 26:22, meaning "open space".
